Whenever you are going to worship Lord Shiva, make sure that you visit a temple with a pure mind and body, and pray with a lot of faith and devotion. It is also believed that it’s a great idea to wear a rudraksha bead during prayers. If you can, offer aegle marmelos (bilwa) leaves, as they are thought to be Lord Shiva’s favorite. Also, if you have a chance, light a deep or Jyoti as a prayer to Lord Shiva before you enter the mandir. This is a wonderful way to purify your soul and experience immediate bliss. Lastly, it is a good idea to donate some food to the poor people before praying.
