If you’re looking for a light watch with a murder in it, I recommend you skip 36 China Town. It’s a light comedy with a sloppy script and not an edge-of-your-seat thriller. In fact, it may be a good thing. But before I tell you about the film’s flaws, let me give you a quick overview of the plot. Read on for my 36 China Town Movie Review.
It’s a comedy with a murder
“It’s a Comedy With A Murder in 36 China Town” is a 2006 Indian comedy-drama film directed by Abbas-Mustan and produced by Subhash Ghai. The film is an official remake of the Italian film Crimen, which was first made in 1960. Despite its comical and occasionally morbid nature, the film is not for the faint of heart.
The film opens with a playboy wooing the girls and a song on Open. The film then progresses with an alternate thread following two hopeless gamblers as they deal with major losses and good-sized wins, bad-sized blows to their family’s fortunes and a murder. Eventually, the two friends stumble upon the body of Sonia Chang. Raj and Priya decide to flee the scene and leave the baby in the mansion, but then realize that they have left the baby behind. The film is not without its share of clumsiness, but it’s far from an absolute masterpiece.
The main flaw of 36 CHINA TOWN is its script. Even if the directors are very talented, the script is uninspired and poorly executed. The climax is so anti-climactic that it almost feels rushed. The screenplay also doesn’t have basic logic and lacks suspense. While the movie does look and sound good, it fails to create a compelling story.
It’s a light watch
It’s a Light Watch has multiple roles in the Death Note franchise, including as a plot device in the novel L: Change the World. This watch was given to Light by his father upon entering university. It serves as the mechanism in which Light kills Takada and sets his surroundings on fire, in order to wipe out evidence of Mello’s murder. The watch itself is broken, and L wears it throughout the novel.
Powered by the sun, light enters the watch through the dial or crystal. The light strikes the solar cell underneath the dial. The solar cell is either a flat disk the size of the dial, or a smaller rectangle. The light knocks electrons loose in the solar cell, resulting in an electrical current. This current is stored in a battery or capacitor and then used to set the quartz-crystal vibrating. These vibrations are then split into one-second impulses, and are transmitted through a gear train and stepping motor to the watch display.
It’s a sloppy script
“36 China Town” is a 2006 Bollywood film, based on the 1992 novel Once Upon A Crime. It’s a murder mystery and stars Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor for their second time together. The film also stars Upen Patel, Paresh Rawal, Johnny Lever, Payal Rohatgi, and Tanushree Dutta.
It’s not an edge-of-your-seat thriller
While it does look slick, 36 CHINA TOWN is not an edge-of-your-seat thrill. Abbas-Mustan and the rest of their crew take liberties and make many amateur errors, but at least they try. But the main flaw of 36 CHINA TOWN is the script. Although the actors and director are talented and their performances are well-shot, the script is abysmal.
There are more thrilling films to be found on the big screen. Unlike 36 China Town, which is filled with excess dialogue, this one lacks suspense and basic logic. The movie has a few great scenes and some good action sequences, but it falls short of being an edge-of-your-seat thriller. Despite its high-profile cast, 36 CHINA TOWN has little to offer for movie lovers.
