Currently, Narendra Modi has 53.3M Followers on twitter, 44,609,101 Facebook Followers, 35.2m Instagram followers and 4.51M subscribers on Youtube.
Narendra Modi joined Twitter in January 2009 and his profile is in the list of top followers where Donald Trump US President has 14.9M Followers and Barack Obama with 24.8M followers is in the 3rd place.
As far as any reason is concerned, he did not mention any such as to why he may give up on social media but talks are very much going that there me something coming like demonetization to stop people spreading and posting rumors.
