The National Telecommunication Centre or Project CoNTeC was launched by the Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare Dr. Harsh Vardhan.
The idea for the project CoNTeC has been given by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and Implemented by AIIMS, New Delhi.
Highlights of National Telecommunication Centre
The project has been implemented with a view to connect the doctors across the country with AIIMS so that they could learn by watching doctors of AIIMS providing treatment to COVID-19 patients and gain from their experience.
It is a multi-modal telecommunication hub established by AIIMS, New Delhi wherein expert doctors will answer the questions of specialists across the country through a 2-way audio-video using Google Duo, WhatsApp, Skype, and text communication.
The facility will be available 24X7 and can be done from any part of the country and the advice given by the expert doctors will be standardized as per national guidelines supplemented protocol developed by AIIMS.
The Government of India has notified telemedicine guidelines which will help the general public getting benefits not only for COVID-19 but for other diseases also.
The basic aim of this project is to make the best possible treatment to reach the poorest of the poor and they could benefit from the consultation from the topmost doctors in the country.

A single line (+91 9115444155) has been given which can be dialed from any part of the country/ world by doctors treating COVID-19 patients.
The calls would be picked up by the CoNTeC managers who will help the callers in establishing a two-way communication as preferred by the caller and then will be transferred to the appropriate expert doctor.
