The Hindi film from Yash Raj Films, Badmaash Company, is an interesting remake of the popular Bollywood film. Though a lot of people love the original, Badmaash Company aims to give viewers an entirely new experience. It’s a coming-of-age movie, so it’s expected that you’ll be entertained by the film’s story and performances. The story is predictable, but is the movie worth watching?
Yash Raj Films
Yash Raj Films’s Badmaash Company is directed by Parmeet Sethi and produced by Aditya Chopra. The movie stars Shahid Kapoor as a prankster and Anushka Sharma as the beautiful and mysterious Bulbul. It runs for 2 hours and 24 minutes and is in Hindi. In the movie review, I will try to give a fair and balanced assessment of the film.
While Badmaash Company has some good elements, the film is a big disappointment. Despite its decent cast, the film lacks direction and is unwatchably long. Despite the dazzling foreign locations and stylish costumes, Badmaash Company does not have the heart or appeal that the film needs to succeed. Although the premise of the movie is good, the storyline isn’t all that interesting.
Yash Raj
As an Indian film lover, I was excited to see Yash Raj in Badmaash company. The movie has an unusual plot, is atypically directed, and has a convincing cast. But it’s too long and boring for my tastes. This movie is a typical example of a Bollywood production that could use some polishing. Nonetheless, I liked the acting and directing of the film, which was a highlight.
While I’ve been disappointed by the lack of a female voice in Yash Raj films’ recent releases, there’s at least one good song in the film. The song ‘Chaska’ by Krishna is infectious and reminds me of ‘Dil haara’ from Tashan. It’s also available in a remix version, which I think would have been a better choice for the film.
Coming-of-age
The coming-of-age film Badmaash Company focuses on the struggles of a young woman trying to navigate the complex world of modeling. The director, Ashish Varma, has a unique vision of what a model looks like. He manages to give an average performance by an average cast. The movie drags in the second half and isn’t particularly exciting. The music score is also average.
While this movie isn’t the most exciting film out there, it’s definitely worth a watch. A good coming-of-age movie should be entertaining, and Badmaash Company is definitely no exception. The film is full of real-life witticisms, pop feminism, and friendly banter. It pokes fun at the dreams of movie stars and is a refreshing change from the usual dramedy. Regardless, this movie is a must-see for those who love good humour and a good laugh.
Predictable
While a badmaash company movie can be an easy watch, it should be noted that it’s not a gangster flick. Instead, it’s about a middle-class dad named Karan who has an idea to cheat on import duties. In order to achieve this, he ropes in three of his friends and comes up with a plan. While this scheme sounds like a slick way to make money, it fails to deliver on expectations.
The movie starts off with some good sequences that remind you of Bunty Aur Babli, but soon veers into a stale and predictable story. The film starts out well, with scenes about shoes in India, but quickly moves onto houses in the US. The first hour is very funny, but the second half of the movie stretches into a stale and cliched mess. It gets even worse when Karan returns to India to accept his award and arrest.
Somber
In terms of genre, ‘Badmaash Company’ belongs to the con-movie category. This film must be intelligent, fast-paced, and contain some last-minute gripping sequences to keep the audience engaged. Though the story and script are decent, the narration and the overall quality fall somewhere between good and average. Despite a few positives, Badmaash Company falls a bit short of its potential.
In spite of its premise, the film has many flaws. While the acting is average, the story lacks emotional heft. It also drags in the second half, with the story fading into mediocrity. The music score is also mediocre, which is a shame because this film features two top-notch actors. Overall, though, it’s a welcome movie. In terms of its main characters, we’ll have to say that the film isn’t for everyone.
Modern
This modern Badmaash Company movie is a remake of the classic City of Gold film. It is set in the 1990s in Bombay and revolves around four young men trying to make a fortune by doing the wrong things. However, the movie is not entirely successful. Here, we will find out why. In this Badmaash Company movie review, we will discuss the film’s pros and cons.
The film has a surprisingly smart screenplay, by debutante director Parmeet Sethi. While the movie’s plot is a little flimsy, it still manages to provide some fun and entertainment. We’re also treated to a lot of pop feminism and real-life witicism. We’re also given a few witty jokes and poking fun at our own dreams as movie stars. Overall, a movie like this is a welcome addition to the cinematic landscape.
